About Habesha Finance

Habesha Finance is for anyone
who wants to achieve financial freedom!

Hey! I am Matt, the guy behind the Habesha Finance mission, and I would like to thank you personally for visiting the Habesha Finance site where my mission is to help you get your life back, build wealth, make a difference and ultimately achieve financial independence. I’m an engineer turned analyst turned part-time personal finance blogger/podcaster who is trying to be a voice of reason and encouragement for everyone out there who needs financial help.

I am the son of immigrants who came to the United States of America all the way from Ethiopia. My parents came to this country with nothing to their name. I learned from them the value of hard work and the continuous need to learn and stay educated.

There is so much information out there and this sometimes can be overwhelming. One of my greatest passions is to teach and give people the tools and knowledge to reach their full potential in life. As I share with you some of my successes and failures as a student, professional, parent, and a brother I hope you will learn and grow as I have.

In my life I’ve discovered that having a one-stop shop to get all my advice and help for every event I encounter was missing out there. There is very little help out there when it comes to the basics of money and financial education especially in the Habesha community. So, here at Habesha Finance we are working with solid, reliable sources mixed in with a little of my personal experiences throughout life to coach you in making the best and most optimal life and money choices. I want to save you the troubles I have gone through so that you can overcome the educational, professional and financial obstacles you may face.

Some fun facts about me:

  1. My favorite show is The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.
  2. My favorite album is Mos Def & Talib Kweli Are Black Star.
  3. I’m still a Craig David fan.
  4. I’ve traveled to 6 continents, 15+ countries, 70+ cities. I’ve ran with bulls in Pamplona, Spain.
  5. Chick-fil-A Sauce and Ranch is the new Ketchup/Mayo.

I want to thank you again for taking this journey with me and I will go ahead and say sometimes I may not say what you want to hear, however as I’ve learned a long time ago, there aren’t enough people in this world to tell us what we need to hear in life.

So, all the information on this website will constantly be updated, you know in case laws change or new, better opportunities are created that can help us all win educationally, professionally and financially. Oh yeah, and I will have a blog that’s just for you on my journey and any topics I come across or questions you may have. Just go to the Contact Us page and send a note with your question or comment.

Before you go I just ask for two favors:

  1. Subscribe to my podcast on whatever podcast player you like to use. I’m pretty much on the majority of podcast players out there.
  2. Add your email to my mailing list. I promise no spam will be sent to you and if you subscribe you’ll actually get something really awesome and free!
